| Description |
English: Gas main replacement on Thames Drive The old metal gas mains are all being replaced around Biddulph with new plastic ones. The work is being carried out in stages by pulling the plastic pipe through the metal one- this means that the whole stretch does not need to be dug up and only a small number of properties were cut off for a day at a time, just a series of holes. But they did have problems here because there were two junctions within a short space that had to be by-passed, without cutting off the gas to the side streets.
