English: Gateway to The Lawns, High Street, Swindon This is the left hand one of a pair of pedestrian gateways to the parkland once owned by the lords of the manor, the Goddard family. The trees visible through the gateway are fairly recent replacements for an avenue of mature holm oaks that had to be felled as they were diseased and dangerous. The gateways are listed Grade II https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1023500 The housing just visible at the left are fairly new. |
