"Ernst Christoph Hochmann von Hochenau 1669/70 - 1721 Wie hoch ist nun der Mann, der hier ein Kindlein gar, Herzinnig, voller Lieb, doch auch des Glaubens war, Von Zions Königs Pracht er zeugte und drum litte; Sein Geist flog endlich hin und hier zerfiel die Hütte. Gerhard Terstegen 1736 Der Wanderprediger und radikale Pietist Hochmann hielt sich seit 1703 oft in Schwarzenau auf. Hier gründete er die Gemeinschaft der "Christusgeweihten", er machte wohl auch alexander Mack (1679-1735), den Gründer der Schwarzenauer Neutäufer, auf Wittgenstein als mögliches Exil aufmerksam. Hochenau lebte ab 1711 meist in der bescheidenen Einsiedelei, seiner "Friedensburg", im oberen Hüttental. Er starb hier im Januar 1721. Bei einem späteren Besuch Schwarzenaus ließ Terstegen ihm einen Grabstein mit diesem Trauergedicht aufstellen." |
