Description
Nederlands: Gemaal De Vooruitgang (1878) aan de Korte Schenkeldijk, bij het Allemanshaventje, te Spijkenisse. Het gemaal is destijds ontworpen door gemalenbouwer Jan Paul. Dit gemaal was actief tot hij in 2018 werd vervangen door het nieuwe hoofdgemaal Putten aan de Schuddebeursedijk. Het gemaal zorgde voor het in stand houden van het waterpeil in de polders van de huidige Maaswijk. Zijn uitstroomkanaal kwam uit in het nabij gelegen Allemanshaventje. Het gemaal had een capaciteit van 25 m2 per minuut. Er zijn door de tijd heen verschillende renovaties geweest, waarvan in 2012 een uitgebreide renovatie de laatste was.
