In the background, a branch of the Educational Building Society, Ireland's largest.The bus is a GAC 47 seater ex-CIE Railways 1987. New 1986 as KS189, subsequently RB 189 The GAC was an entirely Irish made bus, and the KS series of single deckers was the rural bus version. The plant at Shannon closed in 1986 after a short life and some vehicles later than this one were completed by the railway company CIE. The distination is Whitegate - An Geata Bán - in the north-east corner of Clare, close to Galway and Tipperary a route which would take the bus along the shore of Lough Derg. |
