King Valdemar II’s Renown Battle Outside the Town of Valmiera (Wolmar) in Latvia, 1219

  • Dansk: Da Lorentzen udstillede maleriet på Salonen i 1815, gav han det titlen: ”Kong Waldermar den 2dens Bataille i Liefland, hvor Dannabrog falder ned af Himmelen”. Lokaliteten blev da bestemt som som Wolmar, dvs. i Valmiera i Letland. Den generelle opfattelse er nu, at begivenheden fandt sted i Tallinn i Estland.
