This is a 39.5 inch wide "Alton Limited" photograph made during 1905 by George R. Lawrence. This is NOT the 96 inch wide "Alton Limited" photograph he made during 1900 using the "Mammoth Camera"

Čeština: V roce 1900 chtěly Altonské železnice prezentovat fotografie svého luxusního vlaku Alton Limited na výstavě Exposition Universelle (1900) v Paříži. Celý vlak měl být nasnímán na jedné obří fotografii. Lawrence, najatý pro tento úkol, postavil pro tento účel jedinečný deskový fotoaparát, který vážil 1400 liber, exponoval fotografické desky o velikosti 8 stop × 4 stopy a 6 palců na obří desky Cramer Isochromatic. Byly zhotoveny celkem tři fotografie, které na Expo získaly cenu Grand Prix.
Deutsch: Im Jahr 1900 wollte George Raymond Lawrence im Auftrag der Chicago & Alton Railway's einen Luxus-Zug in einem Bild fotografieren. Die Fotografie sollte auf der Weltausstellung in Paris 1900 gezeigt werden. Lawrence baute zu diesem Zweck eine einzigartiges Plattenkamera, die 1400 Pfund wog. Die eingesetzten photographischen Platten hatten die Größe 8 Fuß x 4 Fuß, 6 Zoll.
