Summary edit

Description

Native, warm-season, perennial, weak-stemmed herb to 50 cm tall; covered in stiff spreading hairs and with a swollen taproot. Found in grasslands, woodlands and forests; usually in shadier or moister sites and outside grazed areas. Native biodiversity. Of little importance to livestock grazing in most situations. It is selectively grazed by stock and rapidly declines under continuous grazing; it is best suited to light

grazing pressure and where there are long rest periods.
