English: Close-up of an embroidered cloth badge with a SS style German imperial eagle clutching a wreathed swastika on the upper left sleeve (SS Hoheitszeichen, Ärmelvogel) of a uniform tunic (Waffenrock) of the Waffen-SS
  • SS style 'arm eagle' (SS Hoheitszeichen, Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen, 'national emblem for the sleeve', Ärmeladler, 'sleeve eagle', Ärmelvogel, 'sleeve bird'), a woven "eagle-and-swastika" patch on left sleeve. In March 1936, Hitler approved a new art deco national eagle (Reichsadler) with staggered wingtips for the SS, which was worn through the end of the war as a cap badge and on the sleeve.

Uniform tunic and visor cap (peaked cap) belonged to a Norwegian volunteer with the rank of SS-Untersturmführer in the Waffen-SS during World War II.
