Description Surrender of German U-boats, 1945. German submarine, U-3008, at sea. She was renamed USS U-3008 in August 1945. Front view of snorkel on the submarine while at Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida, July 25, 1947. She was scuttled in 1954 but was raised a year later and sold for scrap. U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2015/7/8).
