The German minesweeper tender Weser anchored off the Norwegian artic coast during the Second World War, with motor minesweepers alongside. The Weser was commissioned as an offshore patrol vessel on 14 November 1931. She was converted to a tender for minesweepers in September-October 1939 and served in that role until 1953, 1945 to 1953 under British command (albeit with a German crew). Weser was scrapped in the Netherlands in 1954. |
