Description
English: Uniform garment of enlisted men in the Germanske SS Norge (GSSN), "Norwegian Germanic SS":
  • Schutzstaffel (SS) service uniform greatcoat for inclement weather (winter season), with insignia in white/grey/silver on black base
  • Black, calf-length, double-breasted wool overcoat with silver buttons, side pockets, turned-back cuffs, and buttoned back strap/belt
  • Photo of the matingale half-belt on the back
  • Black leather Sam Browne belt, waist belt with double prong buckle and crossbelt, a supporting strap over right shoulder; Leatherwear: from June 1942 the German SS buckle was worn.

The GSSN was a military organization established in German occupied Norway during World War II in July 1942 as the Norwegian branch of the Germanic-SS and a sub organization of Vidkun Quisling's collaborationist fascist party National Union (Nasjonal Samling, NS)

Members of the GSSN were issued black uniforms of the Allgemeine SS in September 1942, but their collars had a sunwheel swastika instead of the SS-runes (doppelte Siegrune), and the "GSSN Raven" on the left sleeve instead of the German eagle-and-swastika (SS Ärmeladler) as well as Germanske SS Norge on a cuff title (Ärmelband).
