Description
Deutsch: Die Umgebung der Stadt Hannover war jahrhundertelang ländlich geprägt, im Mittelalter brachten die Bauern ihre Feldfrüchte, hier symbolisiert durch Getreide-Ähren, per Ochsenkarren zum Verkauf in die Stadt. Das Unterfangen war nicht einfach, ein kräftiger Mann packt auf diesem Relief den Ochsen an den Hörnern, um ihn auf den gewünschten Weg zu führen. Ihnen voran geht eine junge, blumengeschmückte Maid, Symbol für friedliche Absichten. Die Darstellung ist Teil des halbplastischen Geschichts- oder auch "Bilderfrieses" am Neuen Rathaus in Hannover, der Bildhauer ist noch unidentifiziert ...
