English: Gilnow Mill, Bolton An integrated cotton weaving and spinning mill from the late 1850s. This shows the engine house of 1856 that held a double beam engine by Musgraves of Bolton. This was gear drive to both mill and shed. The architecture is italianate. It's a major feature of the square.
