The seminude female personification of Justice occupies the middle of the painting.
The three puttis come down the stairs armed with weapons to defend justice.
Because of its lengthy neck and the slowness of its digestion, the ostrich warns of the want to stand all demanding situations with patience.
The Justice's left hand bestows a laurel crown upon the head of Truth.
Truth holds two doves in her hands, symbols of innocence.
Time, personified as an old man with a beard, is gently stroking the chin of Truth, presenting her to the Justice.
The head of time is crowned with an hourglass and wings. Both symbols suggest that time will reveal the truth.
Seven chains fall from the loins of Justice and bind the seven personifications of vice beneath her.
A hippopotamus sits on the scepter held in the judge's right hand. A hippo is considered like a righteous judge who does not forgive his neighbor.
The Truth is personified with the aid of using a harmless young woman.
The vice of Ignorance is kneeling above the head of a donkey.
Corruption is personified as a bearded old man, stooped and attached to coveted things such as money, jewelry, and symbols of power rather than true justice.
Cruelty turns her back to Justice and Truth, unconcerned with the strife of the innocent.
Treason and Fear appear below the two doves held by Truth.
The Law of Moses, called the Torah or the Pentateuch, is depicted in a red cover on Earth.
Falsehood and Slander appear beneath the truth, visually and symbolically crushed by its weight.
