English: This fragment of a painting that originally must have represented the Madonna and Child, attributed to Alvaro di Pietro by F. Zeri (1976, pp. 35-36), has been reattributed to Giovanni da Riolo by comparison to his altar in the Diocesan Museum in Imola (Italy), a late gothic work, ca. 1500.
