Summary edit

Description

From 'Illustrated' magazine, 9 May 1942.

Front cover and 2-page article about 'girls' working at Kew because many of the men were away fighting in the war. I especially like this third page - rather saucy, especially for the era!

The article ends "The 'Kewties' are doing a great job"!

The caption reads: "Eunice King, expert on the care of tropical plants, wades into the great water-tanks to tend a giant water-lily"
