Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og borgmester Hans Nansen fra København i kæmpegraven der fungerer som Svend Poulsens skjulested. Svend Poulsen læser et brev Hans Nansen har fået fra Kong Frederik 3. om, at læseren skal hjælpe Hans Nansen. Hans Nansen tilføjer at kongen har anbefalet Svend Poulsen til at hjælpe med at bringe penge til København gennem de svenske linier. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) og Hans Nansen (1598-1667) var virkelige personer, men historien er fiktion.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during og efter the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and the Copenhagen mayor Hans Nansen in the timuli which serves as Svend Poulsens hideout. Svend Poulsen reads a letter Hans Nansen has gotten from King Frederik III saying that the reader should help Hans Nansen. Hans Nansen adds that the king has recommended Svend Poulsen to help with bringing money to Copenhagen through the Swedish lines. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) and Hans Nansen (1598-1667) were real persons but the story is fiction.
