English: James Clise built the Globe Building in 1901 to house office, shops, and rooms for men who came to Seattle during the Alaskan gold rush. In 2003, the Alexis Hotel occupied the building, located at First Avenue and Madison Street. Signs in image: Bismarck. Bank - Washington Trust Company. Globe Navigation Co. Palace of Sweets.
