| Description | Whilst the registration and bodywork suggest a brand new AEC, APU258S was in fact a rebuilt and rebodied former Reliance of the East Kent Road Car Co, DJG622C. Godward had not been in business,trading as G& G from Wickford for very many years at this time, but the vehicles carried a smart grey and pink (from memory) iivery. At the time of the photograph, the coach was only weeks old. The concern still exists 30 years later as Peter Godward Coaches. In the background, I think, the former GPO telephones depot in Barnes Mill Road. |
