Description

The oldest lighthouse in North Wales dating from 1776,built by community leaders in Chester.It continued to shine until 1883,when it was superseded by the Dee Light Ship vessel permantely moore with beacons acting as navigation aids.

Prior to being taken out of service,the lighthouse displayed two light;One shining out on Liverpool Baytowards Llandudno and the other shining up the Dee estuary.
