| Description |
This is a view along the Gordons Pond trail in Cape Henlopen State Park, looking across to the beaches with two WWII fire control towers standing on the horizon. This part of the lagoon flows through a gate into the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, stretching from the Delaware Bay in Lewes to Rehoboth Bay in Dewey. The photo is from a bike ride on Thanksgiving Day, going about 5 miles from the Cape Henlopen Campground to the beach at Gordons Pond, traversing across an elevated boardwalk and a crushed gravel trail. The wildlife area is great for viewing waterfowl, with some birds in the water here and several cranes seen during the ride. |
