A Carte de Visite, published sometime between September and December 1870 based on the company's NSW initial address of 11 Barrack Street, Sydney, printed on the card. That address was occupied by Small's Photographic Warehouse until at least June, and the A. and A. were advertising as being at that address by September. The company had moved to 324 George Street by January 1871. The photograph was probably taken earlier in the year as the photographer Henry Beaufort Merlin and his assistant travelled through Goulburn on their way from Melbourne to set up a Sydney office. The Carte is part of the Faithfull Collection, materials donated by the Faithfull family from their property "Springfield", Gundary Plains, Goulburn, NSW.
