Description
English: Inside Grand Canal Court, on the east side of 6th Avenue and Thompson Street north of Canal Street in SoHo, Manhattan. Pictured is a new TrueBounce backboard and rim with nets fitted to a typical Parks Department support at the south end of the court. The perforations in the backboard are intended to divert some of the energy away from the ball, shortening the rebound distance. Meanwhile the hoop is a "double rim", strengthening the structure but making shooting more difficult.
