People have lived in the Grand Canyon area for thousands of years, learning to sustain themselves in this challenging environment. On Saturday, March 23, 2013 in celebration of Arizona Archaeology Month, Grand Canyon National Park offered a variety of special activities. Learn more: go.nps.gov/13ulem Grand Canyon remains a homeland and a sacred place to a number of American Indian cultures, a point of emergence for some, offering us an opportunity to consider the powerful and spiritual ties between people and place. |
