English: The Grand Canyon is a steep sided gorge formed by the Colorado River in northern Arizona, United States. View from Cape Royal on the North Rim of Grand Canyon.
(view probably from Cliff Spring section-(0.5 mi NW of Cape Royal, looking down the canyon, east of Cape Royal). Vishnu Temple at left. The rock units are from en:Kaibab Limestone on Walhalla Plateau-(Kaibab Plateau) top, down to members of the Supai Group-("redbeds", sandstone, erosion resistant cliff-forming interspersed with slope-forming, (softer, erodable, units)).
