Title
Grand Foyer of the Orpheum Theatre, ca. 1912, postcard ca. 1914
Description

Interior view of the Grand Foyer in the Orpheum Theatre. It's unclear which Orpheum location this photo depicts. Based on the undivided back of the postcard, which appeared between 1901 and 1907, it's likely this shows the theatre located at 1010 2nd Ave. which operated between 1904 and 1908.

Just below where this says "Grand Foyer Orpheum Theatre Seattle, Wash." you can see where someone has reworked it to remove "Sullivan and Considine, Owners". That strongly suggests that despite the undivided back this postcard shows the 1911 Orpheum that was the flagship of the Sullivan-Considine circuit, and that this postcard dates from some time shortly after 1913, when Sullivan's rapid fall into insanity led to the demise of that circuit. (Considine held on another year or so, so probably after 1914; since there was a version of this mentioning Sullivan, the photo itself is presumably more like 1911-1912.)
