Summary edit

Description
English: Grated Coconut is an integral part of Indian cuisine. From Konkan to Kerala, it is used for making everything from fish, meat and hearty veggies. In Bengal, winter is incomplete without coconut and jaggery; after all this is the season for pithe-puli. In Maharashtra, grated coconut is used for its most famous dessert, modak. Apart from being the main actor, grated coconut is used across the Indian subcontinent to strengthen almost any dish, like moong daal in Bengal or poha in Maharashtra
