| Description |
English: The grave of Hermanus Adolphus Maria Benschop, leader of a resistance group in Utrecht and recipient of the Dutch Cross of Merit (posthumously). Managed to destroy some present transportships in the city, filled with gasoline for the German troops, on February 17th 1945. Was arrested a few days later and shot by a mass execution by a fire squad on the 8th of March.
Nederlands: Het graf van Hermanus Adolphus Maria Benschop, leider van een verzetsgroep in Utrecht en ontvanger van het Nederlandse Kruis van Verdienste (postuum). Wist enkele transportschepen die in de stad lagen, vol met benzine voor de Duitse troepen, te vernietigen op 17 februari 1945. Enkele dagen later werd hij gearresteerd en in een massa executie gefusilleerd. |
