Description
English: Grave stele. Pentelic marble. Found in Piraeus. A standing young woman turned to left supports herself with her right hand on the head of her kneeling attendant, who helps her put one her sandal. In the background, a pensive standing woman holds a chest containing the dead woman’s jewellery. The horizontal lintel of the stele’s pediment records the name of Ameinokleia, daughter of Andromenes. Second quarter of the 4th century B.C. National Accession number: 718. Archaeological Museum of Athens. Athens, Greece. Text: Museum inscription.
