Description

There are two catbirds that have been visiting our suet feeder. They are a bit plain being gray with a black cap but they do have the reddish marking under their tail. Their call is a bit like that of a cat hence the name.

Gray Catbirds are relatives of mockingbirds and thrashers, and they share that group’s vocal abilities, copying the sounds of other species and stringing them together to make their own song. [Cornell University}
