English: Grazing by the Trent and Mersey Canal near Sandon, Staffordshire. The Trent Valley is wide here, and the river meanders considerably. The canal follows a straighter course through the flat valley floor, but both are flanked by land used almost exclusively for grazing here. Some fields support crops where the risk of becoming waterlogged is less. |
