English: 1929 ½d & 2½d Postal Union Congress Die Proofs. Large annotated piece from a presentation album bearing an uncleared proof of the approved "Medal Head" two stamp size bromides (One with corner defect) and three stamp size die proofs of unnapproved designs in black on glazed card all overprinted "CANCELLED" (19.5 x 2.5mm) in red. The unnapproved designs include an example of the ½d value with minor type variations and a different crown above the King's head, a 2½d value with the face value in a different type face placed higher than issued and outer border variations and a 2½d value with the face value as issued but with the outer frame variations. All are presently unlisted but to be included in the next Specialised Vol.2 Catalogue. Ex. The personal archive of Royal Mint Engraver H.A. Richardson presented to him upon his retirement.
