Maiden from a Mirror Stand |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
English: This elegantly attired maiden originally served as the support for a mirror, much like the complete example nearby. Her poise and grace exemplify the refined and contemplative spirit of the Early Classical period. Her outmoded dress (the diagonally worn mantle) and long hairstyle indicate that she was produced in South Italy, where styles persisted longer than in mainland Greece. |
