811 15th St. National Register 10/11/2003, 5WL.2572 "The 1938 Greeley Junior High School is the oldest surviving junior high school in the community. The Depression-era Public Works Administration, part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal programs, partially funded the school’s construction. The building is the only known example of the Art Deco style in Greeley. The school is distinguished by its high standards of construction craft and its extensive use of terra cotta ornamentation. The building is the work of Sidney G. Frazier, Greeley’s most significant historic architect"--Description from the History Colorado website. |
