  • Scope and content: Green River. Cabin at Fort Robidoux, about opposite the mouth of the Uinta, 1871 photograph. (Dodd's Cabin, White River Valley). The men are l. to r.; Dellenbaugh, looking through field glasses; Jack Hillers sitting down and pointing; Thompson on the arm of chair; Beaman standing in front of door; Clement Powell on his left; Steward next; Andy Hattan; Captain Bishop, near tree. Note: Dellenbaugh on page 264, "The Romance of the Colorado River", captioned the photo "Men of the 1871 Expedition at the abondoned Cabin Opposite the Mouth of the Uinta River." (Someone has written in pencil in the original book "Dodd's Cabin, White River Valley" Duchesne River--it is not signed or dated. The Duchesne River was later applied to the lower part of the Uinta River, and the Duchesne flows into the Green River. The White River flows into the Green near the Duchesne and there is a White River Valley now. N. Carico, 1/1968.
