English: Green lane to Alveston Sluice. Nowadays this green lane finishes at the River Avon by the sluice but in former times it would have been the access route to the ford which used to cross the river at this point. Judging by the fan of lanes and byways on converging on this crossing on both side of the river this must have been a crossing of some significance at one time. |
