Description
English: This is unripe plantain. It is a household name around the globe. In Igbo ethnicity, it is usually used to prepare different kinds of local delicacies whether ripe and or unripe. In rural settings, it is harvested by the dwellers/owners and taken to be sold in any of the four market days vis-a-vis Orie, Afọ, Nkwọ and Eke. Plantain plays an important role in in quenching our hunger.
Igbo: Nke a bụ plantain na-etobeghị. Ọ bụ aha ezinụlọ gburugburu ụwa. N'agbụrụ Igbo, a na-eji ya akwadebe ụdị nri dị iche iche nke obodo ma ọ chara ma ọ bụ nke na-akabeghị. N'ime ime obodo, ndị bi/ndị nwe ya na-egbute ya ma were ya ree ya n'ime ụbọchị ahịa anọ vis-a-vis Orie, Aọ, Nkwọ na Eke. Plantain na-ekere òkè dị mkpa n'ịkwụsị agụụ anyị.
