| Description |
Krafla Lava Fields in the Myvatn region of northern Iceland. It is a unique landscape formed by eruptions of the Krafla volcano between 1975 and 1984. This volcanic episode left a large geothermal area of hissing steam vents, where the lava is still warm. In order to enhance the impression, I took the liberty to add some steam in the foreground with the help of Photoshop. Some of these clouds of vapour were in fact elsewhere in this area.
