Dieser Läuferstein 42 (XLII) und der Grenzstein 28 stehen zwischen Eilenburg und Thallwitz, rechts und links der Straße S11. Der Läuferstein trägt die Inschrift XLII. Das entspricht der Zahlenfolge der z. Z. nicht erklärbaren Doppelnummerierung. In diesem Abschnitt wurde der ursprüngliche Grenzverlauf verändert und z. T. neue, größere Grenzsteine gesetzt.
