Summary edit

Description
English: The beautiful, melodic song of a Grey Shrike-Thrush, an otherwise unremarkable bird of the Australian bush. This bird is not an out-and-out mimic in the same way that the Superb Lyrebird is, but there are several instances of mimicry in this recording. The original recording was made on a cassette tape recorder in the bush, while the bird sat in a tree branch some 5 to 8 metres above me. It would give forth with a short burst of song, then stop and eye me off and then burst out in song again. The original birdsong, including stoppages, went for some minutes but, since entering the digital age, I have not only cleaned up the recording (a little) but shortened it substantially by cutting out the quiet sections.

As before, the long, quiet sections have been cut from it, leaving just the beautiful call, plus a few calls in the background from other birds. Category:Audio Category:Birdsong
