Summary edit
DescriptionGrid bisected stepping stones - geograph.org.uk - 1212240.jpg |
English: Grid bisected stepping stones. The 07 grid line passes through the third or fourth stone of this crossing point on the River Swale. If the level had been low enough to cross dryshod, I would have taken photos from both sides, but the lighting as well as my sandals favoured this view. Although the level is not quite low enough to cross without a splash, it is far too low for canoeing, so the annual Swale Charity Paddle which was to take place the day after this, had to be cancelled in 2009 - the first time in many years this has happened. The normal line for paddlers is just in this gridsquare, though few, if any, would know that as they drop between the stones. |
