13 JUIN - 17 JUILLET 1940 :

Le paquebot Félix Roussel, parti le 17 mai 1940 de Sài Gòn et après avoir fait escale à Djibouti le 29 mai, à Suez le 3 juin, arrive à Port-Saïd le 13 juin. Il est alors immobilisé par les Britanniques qui le saisissent le 17 juillet. Le lendemain les autres navires immobilisés dans le canal sont également saisis

Le courrier posté en Indochine, qu'il transporte, est revêtu d'une griffe «Retour à l'envoyeur / Voyage Indochine-France / du 17 Mai 1940 interrompu» et est retourné en Indochine début août.

Le courrier posté au cours de son voyage jusqu'à Suez (notamment à Djibouti) et à Suez par les marins de la flotte française à Alexandrie est revêtu de la même griffe, encadrée ou non.

Note : à l'époque le supplément avion de Alexandrie à Marseille était de 1F50 pour un gain de temps assez limité, d'où l'utilisation assez répandue de la voie maritime par les marins français stationnés en Égypte.
