Description
Deutsch: Die insgesamt 23,40 Meter hohe Bauwerk der Große Bake wurde aus roten Klinkern gebaut. Das hölzerne Toppzeichen ist ein Dreieck und ist 32,10 Meter über dem Hochwasser. Sie steht am Rande der Stadt auf einer 9 Meter hohen Düne. Die Bake wurde 1872 neu gebaut, da während des Deutsch-Französischen Krieges (1870/71) alle Seezeichen abgebaut wurden um dem Feind keine Orientierung zu ermöglichen. Heute dient es nicht mehr zu nautischen Navigation, da sich die Fahrwasser änderten. [1] und [2]
