Afrikaans: In die Grotte van Sint Pieter, suid van Maastricht, Nederland. Mense wat in die grotte geskuil het tydens oorlogstye, het brandende takke teen die mure geplaas om die kamers en gange te verwarm. Die mergel (waaruit die mure bestaan), word dan deur die hitte rooi gekleur. English: In the Caves of St. Pieter, to the south of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. People used to hide in the caves during wartimes, putting burning branches against the walls to heat up the rooms and hallways. The heat from the flames coloured the marl red. |
