Summary edit

Description
English: Grove House, Frenchgate Grove House may be the finest period residence in Richmond. It overlooks the busy lower end of Frenchgate and the river, and was built in 1750 for Caleb Readshaw, a wealthy Richmond business man who made his money from Dales woollen production. Like several other major 18th century buildings in Richmond, it is made of brick, which was more fashionable, and more expensive than local stone at the time.
