Summary

Description
English: Groynes on Worthing Beach, West Sussex Erosion and long-shore drift have long been dealt with by the maintenance of wooden groynes built out from the top of the beach. In recent years huge boulders of granite (from Norway) and limestone (from the Mendips) have been added, to reduce the likelihood of erosion undercutting the coastal road in various places.
