Description

Tucson has a smallish art museum in downtown. Normally it deals with the Latin American and Native American art that is endemic to the area, and to Arizona and Sonora. It is extremely difficult to see arts from any other culture while in Tucson.

But on this day, I am lucking out. There is a special exhibition on art from China's Han Dynasty (approximately from 200 BC to 200 AD). Though this head of Guanyin, made of wood and painted with lacquer, dates from the Ming Dynasty much later.
