| Description |
English: An autumnal scene at Stoke Crossroads (aka Stoke Interchange) in Guildford, Surrey, in October 2009. This photograph was taken from the pedestrian footbridge over Ladymead, looking at the crossroads. The road at the bottom of the photo is Ladymead. The road at the top (i.e. in a straight line with Ladymead) is Parkway. The road on the left is Woking Road, and the road to the right Stoke Road. This is one of Guildford's worst junctions, being very busy and frequently congested. It used to be a large roundabout which was horrendous and a free for all. The traffic lights are much better, but the lights are frequently jumped by idiots who can't be bothered to wait another cycle of lights if the lights change to red while they approach them - to the extent often there are near misses as other people have received a green light and started to move. |
