Description

Fra Trygve B. Gjervans (1918 - 2004) samling.

Gjervan var vernepliktig og tjenestegjorde ved Infanteriregiment 12 som holdt nøytralitetsvakt ved grensen til Sovjetunionen og Finland i Finnmark i 1940. Da tyskerne invaderte Norge 9. april ble IR 12 sendt sørover, og under general Carl Gustav Fleischer (1883 - 1942) ble de satt inn i det norske motangrepet ved Gratangen nær Narvik, hvor IR 12 led store tap.

Fotograf er ifølge Gjervans notater hovedsakelig Kåre Hernes.

Til venstre sersjant Oddmund Morset, Selbu (skutt av tyskerne) og kompanisjefen Hilmar Mjøen. Sersjant Morset var sjef for Stabstroppen som jeg tilhørte.
